Whole Life Challenge – Week Six ✔

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

Leo Tolstoy

I do believe that everyone should be making positive changes in the world. However, these positive changes must begin within us!!

As the flight attendant reminds us “Please put your own mask on, first, before helping anyone else.”.

Let’s recap –

What is the Whole Life Challenge?

The Whole Life Challenge is a 6-week lifestyle journey dedicated to improving your health, fitness, and overall well-being — one habit at a time.

co-founders: Andy Petranek and Michael Stanwyck
  • Am I happy that it is over? << A Little, yes. >>
  • Am I proud of myself? << ABSOLUTELY >>
  • Do I recommend the WLC? << Yes! >>
  • Will I do it again? << YES!!>>

So that’s a wrap folks … 6 weeks … poof! Gone!!

There was this little “Woo Hoo – We have finished!” video that was distributed to members of the group, and I have to say — six weeks ago, I truly envisioned myself as one of the folks in the crowd jumping around once the challenge was complete.

And well … you know where we are at, physically, and I would really injure myself if I jumped up and down … LOL!

Whoa, there … we already went down the “woe is me” path regarding defeat, and I am certainly not going to repeat myself (if you didn’t get a chance, you could read it here).

But we can all agree, as the first 42 days of the 100-day countdown to the Best Version of Me comes to a close, this is not exactly where I expected to be.

And after a lot of thinking, praying, and meditating, I am “OK” with the status of my well-being – for now.

How are you doing?

SO … I am sure that you are all dying to learn … “What is the status of Heidi’s sciatica?!”.

I am glad you asked, thank you! I am NOT 100%, BUT I can hobble around the yard with the dog, and I was even able to complete a little bit of yard work … YAY.

Successful yard work … YAY!

How am I getting better?

We touched a bit on the professional care that I am receiving …
1. Chiropractic
2. Massage Therapy
3. Acupuncture

A few supplements to my care that have also been VERY successful – CBD Oil and Bath “bombs.”

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. One of the 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. In 2018, clinical research on cannabidiol included preliminary studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, and pain.

A warm relaxing bath is one of life’s little luxuries and it is a luxury you can’t afford to skip!

The Bath Bombs from Give 2 Fox, LLC are AMAZING.!!

Bath bombs are hard-packed mixtures of dry ingredients that effervesce when wet. They are used to add essential oils, scent, bubbles, or color to bathwater.

With one of Give 2 Fox’s “Raye Bombs” (named after the owner”s wife) — you can soak away your pains in as little as 20 minutes. You will immerse yourself in all of the natural oils and goodness and will literally feel your rigid muscles relax or the stress of the day melt away.

BONUS — you will sleep like a baby and awake feeling fantastic!

All of that aside, I still improved my health in general. Did all my habits get corrected over these past six weeks … absolutely not … did any?

YES, eating healthy! And, speaking frankly, this “habit” is in the top 3 for easiest out of the 7 weekly habits (followed by sleep and water as a close 2nd and 3rd)

Easy ways to eat healthily –

Quick things that you can start right away!

  • Skip the bread (before the meal or with your burger)
  • Ask for grilled veggies or a salad instead of the potato
  • If you get a salad, skip the dressing and use EVOO and lemon juice
  • Drink PLENTY of water – and add lemon here too!
Easy ways to eat healthy!

And this change (improvement) will definitely continue as it really makes an impact on my energy, weight, and overall body “feeling.”

With all of this said, let us not lose sight that I still have almost 60 days left to my countdown, and, to be honest, folks, once that birthday rolls around, we all know that I will continue to improve myself.

My gosh … I sure hope so! I also hope you will continue this journey with me and pick up the positive points to implement in YOUR life.

Of course, my journey is now going to be a little different than I had expected, and that’s OK. It is sometimes easiest to be a willow and bend a little when the wind blows.

What is next?

What will my journey look like, now?

Have you asked yourself, yet, what will yours look like?

My mindset is shifting a bit to be more holistic health vs. the hard-core push through the pain. Focusing on healthy foods, tiny walks in the yard, and sprinkled with a little yoga (all the while listening to my body).

I do have “sign-off” to begin working on my “Lunch Lady” arms, too… LOL!

You’ll see more from me on learning new ways of gratitude, the theory of self-healing, and living a bit more simply!

I am so pleased that you are on this journey with me!

Until next time … Peace and Blessings, Friends!
