Thank you, Ashlee Nicole Explained for the nomination of the Real Neat Blog Award. Ashlee has been especially encouraging throughout my blogging journey. We met, virtually, during the 5-Day Blastoff Course from It’s a Lovely Life and it has been my privilege to get to know her and have her support.
Along with being extremely supportive of other bloggers, she has a great variety of topics on her Lifestyle blog – beauty, recipes, and life’s tips & tricks. She is even walking us through her journey of becoming a Real Estate Agent! Please take a moment to explore her blog – I am certain you will find something of interest!
I am particularly excited and proud of myself as this is the second blog award that I have been nominated for and it is a fantastic indicator that I am on the correct path! Thank you again!!

My questions that Ashley asked –
What is your favorite memory (child or adult)? Aside from the obvious – the birth of each of my two boys – I’d have to say having them walk me down the aisle. I felt so special, loved and blessed. Then, of course, about 25 minutes later – I married the love of my life – so I’ve got that memory, too!
What is your longest friendship? About 46 years! I met Sandy here in the neighborhood that we live now (you may remember in a previous post I chat with you a bit how we live in my grandmother’s house). Sandy and I were close to 4 years old and we met just before starting Kindergarten.
What is your favorite pastime? Sitting on the beach watching the waves, second only to watching the flames flicker either in our outdoor firepit or our indoor fireplace. The water and the flames are so peaceful and tranquil to me.
What has kept you blogging, and for how long? I have only been working on my blog for about five months with the site being live a little less than four months. I walk you through why I started blogging in my Blogging Recognition Award post, but what keeps me going? I love the opportunity to inspire and share my story with you. It might not be the most perfect life or examples of encouragement, but they are my stories and I work very hard to make them relatable to most.
What is your drink of choice? Water with lemon, I know a bit boring, but I am ALWAYS thirsty. For a little more fun, in the fall – Hot Apple Cider and while wrapping Christmas presents – Egg Nog!
How many career paths have you had? Two. My first and perhaps “main” career path has been under the umbrella of Employee Benefits with several side roads. My second career path, blogging. Even though it has just begun and I have TONS of work to get the career part going, I am determined and I WILL be successful!
What is your greatest strength? Caring. I care for many people, animals and “things” and caring brings you to loving and loving brings you to want to make a difference.
Apparently, for a few of the questions, I had a tough time picking just one answer – I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me!

Hello Alex!
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed my post, I look forward to reading your answers to my questions!
Oh, you guys are missing out by not having Egg Nog…it is a rich and creamy treat and oh so yummy with cognac!
I do want to try mulled wine, do you have a good recipe?
Thx again, Alex…have a fabulous day❣
I’ve really enjoyed reading this and getting to know you a little more. I love that your sons walked you down the aisle to marry the love of your life, that made me smile. Being in the UK, I’ve never actually tried Egg Nog – we tend to drink mulled wine more at Christmas time, but I too enjoy a glass of that whilst wrapping presents, it’s like a little tradition. Thanks so much for the nomination! x
You’re welcome, Ronald you deserve it with how supportive you are in the blogging community.
And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed my answers.
Oh my my! Thanks a ton for the nomination, Heidi. And your answers were really well written. I’ll get working on my blog very soon.
